The Concho Kennel Club, Inc. is a licensed AKC dog club.
What We Do
Our mission is to promote a dogs welfare, training, exhibition and responsible dog ownership.
What We Offer
We offer education to the public, including:
• Canine Good Citizen (CGC) classes and testing
• Canine Good Citizen-Advanced (CGC-A) classes and testing
• STAR Puppy classes for puppies age 3-12 months
• Responsible Dog Ownership (RDO) Education
• AKC Trick Dog Education
• AKC Therapy Dog Training
• Microchipping through AKC reunite
• Education through the Canine Ambassador program by going to local schools and kid/young adult clubs
Our History
The San Angelo Kennel Club of 1911 was established as an AKC club on November 6, 1914. The Concho Kennel Club was established in 1964 and incorporated June 6, 1974 as a predecessor to the SAKC.
The time gap in the history of the kennel club exists due to wars, drought and the economy. Our predecessors were once a part of both named clubs.
